Quick Synopsis:
Because he tried to save a life, Do Min Joon was left stranded on Earth unable to return to his planet for the next 400 years. He has kept his identity hidden with a new profile every ten years. Today, he has crossed paths with a very famous Hallyu star, Cheon Song Yi, whom he has fallen in love with. Will he sacrifice his only chance of going home for love?

My Thoughts:
Story Line:
Great story line. Alien gets stuck on Earth and is forced to live among humans for 400 years. He learns to adapt and keep his identity hidden by creating a new profile of himself every ten years until he is able to return home. Being an alien, he does have special abilities such as heighten senses, teleportation and stopping time. And just like every super hero we know and love, he does have a weakness- he cannot exchange any sort of body fluids with humans. Also, when he gets drunk, he loses control of his abilities.

But of course, no drama would be the same without a little love story. In this case, our alien has fallen for an actress who resembles the girl he saved 400 years ago. This makes all of the kiss scenes sweet yet comedic because of the after effects. In the middle of their blossoming love are obstacles that stand in the way of their happiness. The big one being that if he doesn't return home in three months, he will die on Earth. The other being that someone has it out for Cheon Song Yi and made various attempts on her life.

I am glad that they show some recollections of his past life throughout the story. However, they only focus on his life during the Joseon era. I get why they focus on that era since it is when he landed on Earth. Still, I would have preferred to see some more variations besides how he met Jang Yeong Mok and of his life as a doctor. The additions at the end where they show extra scenes or a sort of interview with Do Min Joon are delightful to watch. They give more insight into how Do Min Joon became the man he is today. Which somehow makes it okay that this was not a happily ever after. The drama ended with a bit of a surprise which I did not see coming at all.

Cast:
They have a great cast especially Gianna Jun since she is an international star. However, the scenes where she is trying to be cute just make me think of 30 year olds who pretend to be in their 20s. That is not a good look on her. It worked before when she was a younger actress but now it just seems sad. She seems more like Song Yi when she sticks with the diva persona. Now onto Kim Soo Hyun. I think he has been able to fit the role of Do Min Joon perfectly. He has an aura about him that just screams sophisticated and rich. With his posture and mannerism, I would believe that he has lived 400 years.

Music:
Such beautiful melodies. The songs I hear in this drama are the reason why I love Korean songs. They just all sound so serene. It also fills the scenes with deep and pure emotion. It was perfect when Do Min Joon sang a song for Cheon Seong Yi. It was a sad song but romantic nonetheless.

Overall I would rate this drama with a 5/5.
