My Thoughts:
Story Line:
There are two version to this drama. The original 72 episode version and the cut 36 international release. When I saw this show up, I thought 36/72 episodes are just way too much for a drama that is not historical. However, I always wanted an extended story line that would surpass 25 episodes and would show a little of the life after the typical happy ending. Therefore, I opted for the 72 episodes and was happy that this drama did just what I wanted.
Two things that stood out to me in the story were that the female lead character was not a person who was in search for Mr. Right and the story goes on beyond them starting a relationship or getting married. I got completely engrossed in it since the first episode. I mean c'mon what family member would trick their child/sibling by telling them they have cancer? That just doesn't happen. This of course is used to set up the story and gives us a glimpse of how their love story will be played out.
Cast:
I have never seen Annie Chen in a drama, but I did see George Hu in Romantic Princess. I did not really pay attention to him there so seeing him as a lead actor here I was able to notice that he is great. These two together are amazing! I love the chemistry between them. They would make a great couple on and off screen. I noticed that they are actually in another drama together called Love Around which I am adding to my list of future dramas to see.
Music:
The music was not that great in my opinion. The intro was sort of too playful for my taste while the insert song was boring. It did go with the characters though since they do have their childish puppy love moments. The insert song also sounded like their love confession.
Overall I would rate this drama with a 4/5.
